Gamifying my bullet journal: it’s a game of solo DnD
Go big or go home. Usually, I go home. This time I went big or tried to go (more on that later). It’s another try at a gamifying bullet journal. Now it’s a game of solo DnD. Lessons learned from the first try: So to bring more of those game elements I love, I decided to pair my bullet journal with a game of solo Dungeons and Dragons. With bullet journaling, I prefer a minimalistic setup. This experiment is not. But if this makes me use my bullet journal regularly and get stuff done, it’s worth it. Also, I get to play DnD which is awesome. The prep If my…

Reading a book I DNF’d: A Court of Thorns and Roses
To understand all the Instagram memes, I gave a second chance to A Court of Thorns and Roses. It’s the only book I’ve DNF’d. Why? I know what I like. It’s NOT YA romantasy. What happened the first time? I listened to the audiobook. When a wolf creature bursts through your door to get you to come with him because ”I have land”, I lost it. I still don’t know what was so funny about it. Well, some books are better read than listened to. So after waiting 5 months in the library queue (damn these books are popular!) I gave ACOTAR another chance. Here are my disorganized thoughts while…

5 Little Things I Learned From a 24-Hour Readathon
For the first time in my life, I participated in a readathon. Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon, to be precise. My goal was to stop being a ”fake reader” and get back into the habit of reading. And dig into my TBR pile of Wheel of Time books. 1. Focus? Is that some kind of food? I remember the time when I could read for hours non-stop, neglecting hunger and toilet breaks. 15 years later, I’m stopping every 15 minutes to check on my phone, even when I’m reading a fantastic fantasy book. Not good. Lack of practice, I presume. 2. That’s NOT enough snacks My adventurer rations for the readathon…

Hi there! I hope your 2024 has started with joy, new goals, and determination. No better way to keep track of your goals than with a bullet journal, especially if you’re more into a papery kind of planner. I’ve tried to gamify my bullet journal (bujo) for a while now, while still keeping it simple and fast to use. Why gamify your bullet journal?
